It’s Time That You Won

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, with one of the only sincere performances and acceptance speeches of the night, won the Oscar for “Best Original Song.” Their collaborative effort with former band mate on the movie, “Once” was recognized for the brilliant and passionate song, “Falling Slowly.” The song is still available for free download on the movie’s official website.

The only reason I even watched the Oscars was to see their performance. They did not disappoint. Glen said he felt like “a plumber at a flower shop.” Marketa was asked to come back on stage after the commercial break to make her acceptance speech, in a rare moment for the Oscars.
