I work as a Culinary and Related Food Technology instructor at the Greenville Technical Center in Greenville, Mississippi. I have 20 years of teaching experience. I have participated in Levels I, II and III of the National Association Educational Foundation Summer Institutes at the Chicago Institute of Arts and Johnson and Wales Institute on the Miami campus. I teach re-design culinary teachers about technology that works in the classroom at Mississippi State every summer. I have partnered for seven years with NRAEF ProStart, and have 20 years experience as a caterer, a Food and Beverage Manager and Hotel Assistant Manager.

I served on the Curriculum Writing Team for Culinary Arts in 1995, 2001 and 2006. I was MSHRA ProStart teacher of the year in 2003 and one of three finalists for Greenville Public School District Teacher of the Year in 2004. I also serve on the Board of Trustees for the Mississippi Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

A native of Columbus, Mississippi, I reside in Greenwood, Mississippi with a kitty herd of three. I have one grown child, a New Orleans artist. Although I am very dedicated to my career, I do enjoy traveling, creating art with my cooking, and listening to soulful blues music.
